Sugaring Advice
Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!
- allows the treatment to be more effective and efficient because dead or dry skin can accumulate and become troublesome
- promotes circulation and frees the skin of excess dead skin which often results in ingrown hair
- using an exfoliating glove is recommended 2-3 times per week in the bath or shower
- to avoid skin irritation, please do not exfoliate the day before, the day of, and the day after a treatment
- make sure to hydrate your skin after exfoliation to promote smooth, ingrown- free skin
Pre-treatment recommendations:
- cleansing the area to be sugared is appreciated
- please do not apply cream or deodorant to the area being sugared the day of your treatment. This may cause more difficulty in removing hair
- please bring a fresh, white cotton shirt to wear following treatment if you are having your chest or back sugared. Please soak in epsom or dead sea salts 2-3 times a week, no longer than 15 minutes following treatment to these areas
- WOMEN: Please avoid booking appointments near your cycle as you may be more sensitive at this time
Post-treatment recommendations:
- avoid direct heat such as hot baths, or sun tanning for ~ 24hrs
- as excessive perspiration can irritate the skin, please avoid intense exercise & hot yoga ~ 12-24hrs
- keep the skin clean and free of harsh lotions or products for 24hrs to avoid irritation
- use Hungarian Mud to rejuvenate the skin, help with ingrown hair, treat facial blemishes, improve skin texture and clear toxins to promote healing
- take warm (not hot) Dead Sea Salt baths to help prevent & rid ingrown hair and sooth skin
